After an analysis made by Andrea Corso et al. on the identification of Atlas Flycatcher Ficedula speculigera (to be published in the next issue of Dutch Birding), Arnoud van den Berg warns that both Atlas Flycatcher and Iberian Pied Flycatcher F h iberiae are so variable in morphology that they can only be identified with 100% certainty by a DNA sample or by call differences.
As a result, Arnoud suggests to review and reject the field records of F h iberiae on the Moroccan list.
There is only one record of Iberian Pied Flycatcher in the Moroccan Rare Birds Committee Database: a bird at Touroug on 10 April 2010 (CHM16).
