Première preuve de reproduction de la Bergeronnette des ruisseaux Motacilla cinerea à Melilla : l’observation d’un mâle en plumage nuptial le 27 juillet 2020 par Pedro Paredes Ruíz a incité à rechercher des preuves de reproduction, ce qui a débouché sur la photographie d’un jeune le 2 août. Jusqu’à présent, l’espèce était considérée comme hivernante dans cette région (info. Diego Jerez Abad).

Breeding distribution (from Thévenot et al. 2003, Birds of Morocco) : ‘Jbala and High Rif east to Kétama, Hills of Eastern Morocco in Gorge du Zegzel (Beni-Snassen), Central Plateau near Oulmès, Western and Eastern Middle Atlas, and High Atlas from Imouzzer Ida-Ou-Tanane in west to Tounfite in east. Particularly common in Central High Atlas and in upper valleys of southern slopes (eg gorges of Todra and Dadès); also locally in Souss, eg in upper valley of Oued Souss at Aoulouz and occasionally at the Massa estuary (spring 1994). Reaches southwestern limits in Western Anti-Atlas near Souk El-Arba d’Assads. In lowlands, breeds in Saïs near Fès at Aïn Chkeff and Bou-Rkeis at c 450 m and also probably in Zaër near Rabat in Korifla gorge at c 300 m’
