Abstract:

First confirmed nesting of the Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) in Tunisia. During the 2025 breeding season, we recorded two pairs of Red-crested Pochard Netta rufina in Khniss wetland, Tunisia. This represents the first confirmed breeding case of the species in Tunisian wetlands.

تسجيل أول حالة تعشيش مؤكدة للبط الرؤاسي في تونس. خلال موسم التكاثر لعام 2025، سجلنا زوجين من البط الرؤاسي Netta rufina في المنطقة الرطبة خنيس، تونس. تمثل هذه الحالة أول حالة تكاثر مؤكدة لهذا النوع في الأراضي الرطبة التونسية.
