Un Butor étoilé (Botaurus stellaris) chanteur à l’embouchure de la Moulouya

Le 17/05/2022, Imad Cherkaoui a pu enregistrer le chant du Butor étoilé (Botaurus stellaris) à l’embouchure de l’Oued Moulouya. Au Maroc, il est connu comme reproducteur dans les marais du Bas-Loukkos et à l’embouchure de la Moulouya, mais la dernière donnée de reproduction sur ce dernier site datait d’il y a 20 ans ! (mai-juin 2002) (Patrick Bergier et al., 2022).

A singing Eurasian Bittern at the mouth of Oued Moulouya

On 17/05/2022, Imad Cherkaoui was able to record the song of a Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) at the mouth of Oued Moulouya. In Morocco, it is known as a breeder in the marshes of Bas-Loukkos and at the mouth of the Moulouya river, but the last breeding record at the latter site was 20 years ago! (May-June 2002) (Patrick Bergier et al., 2022).
