Short update on my recent findings:
— Feb. 18. Agdz-Zagora: Moroccan Wagtail almost at every bridge over the Draa that I visited. Moustached Warbler at the bridge 7 km from Agdz, feeding between tens of Chiffchaffs in the riverbed (record shot available)
— Feb 21: 50 km west of M’hamid (at N 29.82179/W006.18698): a pair of Desert Sparrows flew into our tent! (foto available). Lots of Brown-necked Raven (more than 20) around the tourist-camps at the north-side of the dunes.
— Feb 22: Draa-valley between Zagora and Agdz, near Akhellouff: beautiful male Siberian Stonechat. Effectively a black-and-white bird with a very small orange patch high on his breast, a large white rump and clear white patch on the wings. Broad white band extending to hind-neck and getting wider there. no photo.
— Feb 23: Ouarzazate, barrage Mansour Eddhabi: Casarca: 2 pairs displaying, 40 Great crested Grebe: a few pairs displaying, most of the others more or less in winter plumage. 1 pair of Long-billed Crested lark (record shot available). Osprey, 14 Flamingo.
— Feb 25: North of Dades-gorge at 2000 m. asl: Tristrams Warbler adult male. In the Dades and Todra-gorge lots of Rock bunting. North of Todra-gorge: short-toed lark. Tagdilt-track disappointing: a few desert wheatear, some hoopoe lark and the 5 Coursers (Cees de Vries)
