Almost a month ago, Mohamed Mediani found a Common Shelduck and 8 Shovelers at Taourta near Dakhla. There are still six Shovelers and a pair of Common Shelducks on 4th March.

The Shoveler is rarely seen at Dakhla and there were only two previous records of Shelduck in the region of Oued Ad Deheb (both in the Bay of Dakhla : 2 birds in January 1999 and 10 birds early April 2014).
