The Red-throated Pipit Anthus cervinus is a scarce autumn migrant (most records from late October to early November) but is regular during its spring migration from late February to mid April. It is then not uncommon along the Atlantic coast but scarce inland in the Atlantic Morocco and South of the High Atlas (Dadès-Draa, Tafilalt and ‘Southeast Sahara’). It is now a regular winter visitor in small numbers along the Atlantic coast but scarce inland at various sites (e.g. Douyiet, Barrage Idriss I, Aguelmam Sidi Ali, Ouarzazate, Oued Ziz North of Erfoud, and Merzouga).

 

First record yesterday at the ECWP Center of Missour (upper Moulouya Valley) : ‘The bird was first spotted by my colleague Geoffrey Monchaux this noon, then observed at leisure during the afternoon’ (Vincent Liéron)

Le Pipit à gorge rousse Anthus cervinus est un migrateur d’automne rare (la plupart des mentions viennent de fin octobre et début de novembre) mais il est plus régulier durant au printemps de fin février à mi-avril. Il n’est alors pas rare le long de la côte atlantique mais plus rare à l’intérieur des terres dans le Maroc atlantique et au sud du Haut Atlas (Dadès-Draa, Tafilalt et ‘Sud-est saharien’). Il hiverne régulièrement en petit nombre le long de la côte atlantique mais rarement à l’intérieur des terres sur divers sites (par exemple Douyiet, Barrage Idriss I, Aguelmam Sidi Ali, Ouarzazate, Oued Ziz au nord d’Erfoud et Merzouga)
