L’Outarde houbara était auparavant commune dans l’Oued Ad Deheb, tant côtier qu’intérieur ; elle y est très rare aujourd’hui et ne connaissait que deux observations récentes dans l’Oued Ad Deheb intérieur (une
au nord-ouest d’Aousserd le 16 janvier 2011 et trois oiseaux entre Boulariah et Oum Rouaguène le 8 décembre 2013).

‘Regarding our observation of the Houbara, we found it unexpectedly while driving off road with Mohamed Samlali. Soon after finding the bird we where approached by a 4×4 with a guard who was controlling the birds. As far as he said, they have people controlling the houbaras every 20km2 (?) because falconers from the emirates were about to visit the region’ (Javi Elorriaga)
