Abstract:
Overview of the avifauna of the wetland of Oued Sebaa, in Sidi Bel Abbès, with a new locality of Marmora’s Warbler Curruca sarda in North-West Algeria.
An ornithological study conducted at the hill reservoir of Oued Sebaa in the Sidi Bel Abbès region of north-western Algeria identified a total of 50 bird species, belonging to 25 families and 12 orders. Of these, the Passeriformes is the most dominant order with 28 species (12 families) or 56% of the species recorded. On 11 November 2022, we observed a Marmora’s Warbler (Curruca sarda) in the reservoir’s vicinity, making the latter not only a new locality for the species in Algeria, but the westernmost one.
